WIA President, Scott Williams VK3KJ recently visited the GARC to deliver a highly informative presentation on the role the WIA plays in our hobby. His presentation included discussion of
- the structure and aims of the WIA
- a proposed opt-in electronic call book
- reviewing the current band plan
- WIA strategy for class license reform and advocacy
- the new WIA website
- the grants program available to affiliated clubs.
Scott generously spent time fielding questions from GARC members about WIA activities and policies. The large contingent of GARC members and visitors present appreciated the opportunity to hear from Scott directly, to learn more about the WIA’s work and to chat with him after the formal presentation. We look forward to welcoming Scott back to the GARC when he is next in Geelong.
