The GARC’s annual Ray Cowling Award formally recognises the activities of a GARC member who has been considered by the club to have been the most active in promoting the GARC, amateur radio and in particular, recruiting and retaining new members to the GARC. This is the GARC’s equivalent of the Brownlow Medal for ‘Promotion of the GARC’. All club members have the opportunity for input into the process.
Dennis VK3SM accepts the award from GARC President, Peter VK3WK.
Our current treasurer, Dennis VK3SM, was the worthy recipient of the Ray Cowling Award for 2025. As noted by GARC President, Peter VK3WK, “Dennis works tirelessly for the club, not only in his role as Treasurer but with almost every aspect of the club’s activities from training to repeaters, hamfest sales, clubroom maintenance, etc. etc. I don’t think there’s a person in the club who deserves the accolade more than Dennis.”
While the award was made earlier in 2025, it was formally presented later in the year after Dennis returned from recent travels. Congratulations to Dennis and thank you for your many contributions to the GARC.
